Amman, September 29 (Petra) Twenty-three people have been killed across Thailand, including four in Bangkok, following heavy rains and flash floods that have affected 42 provinces since September 16.

In a statement, the Thailand's Ministry of Interior said Tuesday reported fatalities in several affected areas as the country continues to deal with the impact of severe weather conditions that began earlier this month.

Floodwaters inundated entire neighbourhoods in Bangkok and overwhelmed the city's drainage system after 320 millimeters of rain fell over two days an amount roughly equivalent to the capital's average rainfall for the entire month of September.
