65/ Arab League rebukes Iranian ballistic missile attack on Jordan

Cairo, Sept. 9 (Petra) - The Arab League criticized the Iranian ballistic missile attack targeting Jordan on Wednesday, calling it a "flagrant violation of Jordanian sovereignty and a severe threat to regional stability."

Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy warned that Iran’s escalating hostility toward Gulf states and neighboring Arab nations risks plunging the entire region into an open conflict, threatening to derail diplomatic negotiations.

Fahmy noted that Iran’s "reckless conduct" and attempt to expand active conflict zones foster long-term animosity with its Arab neighbors and jeopardize the regional security framework. He emphasized that the security and stability of Jordan and the Gulf nations remain "integral" to broader Arab national security.

Urging an immediate end to the escalation, Fahmy called on Tehran to abandon its aggressive policies, honor international agreements, and adhere to good-neighborly principles.

He pledged the Arab League’s solidarity with Jordan, backing all measures the Kingdom takes to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability.
