50/ JIACC, Transparency International delegation talk integrity reform

Amman, Sept. 9 (Petra) - Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) Chairman Hazem Majali voiced on Wednesday Jordan’s commitment to bolstering its anti-corruption system during talks with Transparency International (TI) leaders in Amman.

Majali made his remarks during a meeting with Transparency International Board Chair François Valérian and Abeer Mdanat, executive director of Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency.

Describing anti-corruption as a "joint responsibility," Majali lauded joint efforts with Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency, expressing interest in tapping TI’s global expertise to drive national reforms.

Commending the joint effort, TI Board Chair François Valérian called the relations between Transparency International, Rasheed, and the JIACC a "regional benchmark" for sustaining governance projects through public-civil partnerships.

Rasheed's Executive Director Abeer Mdanat outlined plans to roll out the second phase of performance indicators under the national integrity roadmap, focusing on anti-money laundering measures for financial institutions and beneficial ownership disclosures to safeguard the economy and foster a transparent investment environment.
