Amman, Sept. 8 (Petra) - HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, inaugurated the 24th Asian Cadet Junior & U21 Championship on Tuesday in Al Hussein Youth City.

The four-day tournament features 338 athletes representing 30 countries.

In his opening address, Minister of Youth and Head of the Higher Organizing Committee Raed Adwan stated Jordan’s commitment to providing "full organizational support to ensure a world-class event."

Jordan Karate Federation President Hassan Masoud welcomed the visiting delegations, noting that hosting the championship showcases sport’s role in uniting nations and reinforces the Kingdom’s standing as a "safe, stable venue" for major events.

Asian Karate Federation President Nasser Razooqi lauded Jordan’s dedication to delivering an "exceptional" continental showcase.

The ceremony featured traditional folklore and artistic performances. Following the opening, Prince Faisal watched several matches and presented awards to top finishers in the Cadet Under-57kg, Over-60kg boys', and Over-60kg girls' categories.
