6/ Women’s Kickboxing Championship Wraps Up with 120 Athletes Competing
Amman, Sept. 6 (Petra) -- Women's Kickboxing Championship concluded Saturday with 120 athletes from 20 clubs and training centers competing in 92 bouts, underscoring growing female participation in the sport across the Kingdom. Organized by the Jordan Kickboxing Federation, the championship registered 133 entries across three disciplines, point fighting, kick light and light contact, and featured competition across all recognized age categories, from young athletes to juniors, youth and senior women. The broad range of age groups provided younger competitors with an opportunity to test their skills in a competitive setting while allowing more experienced athletes to showcase their abilities. Women also took center stage in officiating, with an all-female refereeing team overseeing the bouts throughout the championship, reflecting their expanding role in the technical side of the sport. The federation said the championship forms part of its efforts to expand women’s participation in kickboxing and develop a new generation of female athletes, referees and coaches capable of representing Jordan at local, Arab and international competitions. //Petra// RZ
