Amman, Sept. 6 (Petra) -- Athlete Zain Al-War claimed bronze in the women’s 3,000-meter race at the Arab Junior Athletics Championships in Egypt, securing the Kingdom’s first medal of the competition.

Al-War reached the podium Saturday as part of Jordan’s national athletics team competing at the regional championships.

Jordan is fielding a 10-member team at the event, comprising Zain Al-War, Selena Al-Adham, Shahd Abu Sheikha, Rimas Khaderj, Aya Al-Rayhaneh, Marah Abu Koush, Ibrahim Hamdan, Saif Al-Din Al-Shamasneh, Mustafa Al-Azazmeh and Qusai Al-Ramadin.

The national team arrived in Egypt Thursday, accompanied by a delegation that includes Rami Abu Harabi Al-Adwan and Abdelqader Al-Maharmeh, coaches Khaled Hindawi and Khaled Yousef, and physiotherapist Batoul Al-Madadha.
