Amman, Sept. 6 (Petra) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) criticized on Sunday remarks made by Israeli government regarding plans to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza.

OIC Secretary-General Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed stated that Gaza is an "integral part" of the occupied Palestinian territory.

He warned that attempts to uproot Palestinians threaten regional and global security and undermine efforts to achieve a two-state solution.

The Secretary-General urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to prevent Israel from altering the demographic, geographic, and political status quo of the Palestinian territories.

He stressed the need to execute the peace plan under UN Security Council Resolution 2803 to ensure unimpeded aid delivery, a permanent ceasefire, a full Israeli soldier withdrawal, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
