29/ Zarqa Culture and Arts Festival continues across governorate

Zarqa, Sept. 5 (Petra) -- The Zarqa Culture and Arts Festival continued Saturday across various parts of the governorate as part of a six-day program featuring a range of artistic, cultural, heritage, and entertainment activities.

In Hashemiyah District, the festival drew a large public turnout. Saturday's program included an entertainment carnival for children featuring interactive performances and recreational activities, as well as a theatrical performance by actor Hussein Tbeishat that addressed a number of social issues in a comedic format, delivering meaningful messages and reflecting the realities of the audience.

Heritage arts also featured in the day's program, with folkloric performances by the Bani Maarouf troupe showcasing aspects of popular heritage. The Jordanian-Circassian Folklore Association also presented a performance featuring examples of its artistic and folkloric heritage.

The day's activities concluded with a musical performance by singer Bashar Al Sarhan, who performed a selection of national and popular songs.

Alongside the festival activities, a bazaar was held for women from the local community in Hashemiyah, featuring a range of accessories and traditional clothing. The bazaar aimed to give women an opportunity to showcase their products and skills and strengthen their participation in cultural and community events.

Mohammad Al-Zoubi, director of the Zarqa Culture Directorate, said the continuation of festival activities across the governorate reflected the importance of bringing culture and the arts to local communities and providing residents with opportunities to participate in the events and benefit from their diverse programs.

He said the program reflected the Ministry of Culture and the Culture Directorate's commitment to revitalizing cultural and artistic activity in districts and local communities and creating opportunities for artists, heritage groups and local talent, thereby strengthening the role of culture in public life and reinforcing its developmental and community role.
