21/ EU condemns Iranian attacks on Jordan

Amman, Sept 5 (Petra) -- The European Union strongly condemned recent Iranian attacks targeting Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, warning that the strikes undermine settlement efforts, threaten regional security and stability, and violate international law.

In a statement published on its official website on Saturday, the European External Action Service (EEAS) said the EU "is deeply concerned about the latest military escalation in the Middle East," calling for de-escalation and the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

The EEAS also strongly deplored a recent wave of Iranian attacks targeting Saudi commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, reiterating that such actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law.

The statement underscored the necessity of ensuring the protection of civilians by all parties under all circumstances, in full compliance with international humanitarian law.
