  33/ Jordan, Iraqi Kurdistan medical councils partner to boost training

Amman, Sept. 3 (Petra) - Jordan Medical Council (JMC) Secretary-General Manar Lawama met on Thursday with Kurdistan High Council of Medical Specialties President Ariana Barzanji and Jordanian Health Attaché in Erbil Suleiman Ammarin to explore expanding bilateral cooperation.

Discussions focused on capacity building, medical examinations, and program accreditation to enhance medical education, training, and healthcare standards.

During the delegation's visit to the JMC headquarters, Lawama lauded the rapid development of Iraqi Kurdistan's healthcare sector, affirming Jordan's readiness to share expertise and technical capabilities with its Kurdish counterparts.

Barzanji, for her part, commended JMC’s "long-standing" reputation and Jordan’s "high-caliber" medical professionals, calling for broader partnerships.

Ammarin noted that the collaboration builds on "strong ties" that serves as a foundation for deeper regional cooperation in medical training, certification, and practice areas.
