20/ Amman AI Hackathon Produces Over 50 Prototypes With 183 Participants

Amman, Oct. 13 (Petra) – The Amman AI Hackathon 2026 concluded with 183 participants developing more than 50 functional prototypes using artificial intelligence tools on the Replit platform.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship said the event brought together young founders, engineers, students, and recent graduates under the patronage of the ministry's Secretary-General Samira Zoubi.

Organized by Fikr Ventures in partnership with global development platform Replit, the hackathon featured two competition tracks: educational technology and the future of work, both identified as sectors significantly affected by artificial intelligence and closely linked to employment opportunities for Arab youth.

Fikr Ventures Co-Founder Mohamad Khawaja noted that artificial intelligence has transformed product development, making it accessible beyond professional programmers to individuals with ideas addressing real-world problems.

He explained that Fikr Ventures aims to help Jordanian and Arab youth transition from technology users to technology creators by providing access to appropriate tools, opportunities, and funding through partnerships with Replit and supporting organizations.

For his part, Replit's Head of Partnerships for the Middle East, Shaker Amayreh, expressed confidence that the next generation of technology creators would emerge from across the world rather than exclusively from traditional technology hubs.

Commenting on the event, Amayreh highlighted participants' ability to develop functional products within hours, despite coming from diverse professional and educational backgrounds.
