Amman, Oct. 5 (Petra) - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) committee approved the municipality’s JD449 million draft budget for 2027 on Monday, alongside indicative budgets through 2030.

Projected revenues comprise JD414.7 million in self-generated income, JD25.5 million from fuel and licensing fees, JD5.6 million in grants, and JD3.1 million from other financing sources. Total estimated expenditures match total revenues, allocating JD271.3 million to operational costs and JD177.6 million to capital investments.

Committee President Ahmad Malkawi said the 2027 budget showcases a collaborative effort across GAM sectors, aligning strategic priorities to improve municipal services and better public quality of life.

He noted that the budget focuses on financial sustainability, spending controls, and improved revenue collection to balance fiscal stability with quality service delivery.

During the session, the committee also approved recommendations from GAM's investment committee.
