Amman, May 17 (Petra) - Border Guard units operating within the Eastern Military Zone intercepted and neutralized two separate drug smuggling operations involving electronically guided balloons attempting to cross into national territory.

The airborne smuggling mechanisms were detected by specialized surveillance assets attached to the Border Guard units. Following protocol, military teams tracked the coordinates, neutralized the guidance systems, and forced the balloons and their payloads down inside Jordanian territory.

The operational response was executed in coordination with state security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the seized illicit materials have been transferred to legal authorities for investigative processing.

The Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to deploying advanced counter-measures along the border network to intercept shifting logistical methodologies, reinforcing that any attempt to breach the frontier or compromise public safety will be met with decisive force.
