  43/ National football team names 30-man squad for Switzerland, Colombia friendlies 

Amman, May 17 (Petra) -- The national football team head coach Jamal Sellami has named a 30-man preliminary squad for upcoming international friendlies against Switzerland and Colombia as part of preparations for the 2026 World Cup, the technical staff announced on Sunday.

The selected 30-man roster includes Yazeed Abulaila, Abdallah Al-Fakhouri, Noor Bani Attiah, Ahmad Juaidi, Abdallah Nasib, Yazan Al-Arab, Hossam Abu Al-Dahab, Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi, Saleem Obeid, Saed Al-Rosan, Ehsan Haddad, Ahmad Assaf, Anas Badawi, Mohannad Abu Taha, Mohammad Abu Hashish, Mohammad Abu Ghoush, Ibrahim Sadeh, Amer Jamous, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Youssef Qashi, Rajaei Ayed, Mohammad Al-Dawud, Mahmoud Al-Mardi, Musa Al-Taamari, Ibrahim Sabrah, Oudeh Al-Fakhouri, Mohammad Abu Zreik, Ali Azaizeh, and Ali Olwan.

The national team, Al Nashama, will begin its training camp at the national training center in Amman on Thursday, May 21, preceded by individual training sessions for select players. The delegation is scheduled to depart for the Swiss capital on the evening of Thursday, May 28.

Jordan will face Switzerland in a friendly on May 31 at the Kybunpark stadium in the Swiss city of St. Gallen. Following the match, the team will travel to San Diego, United States, for a training camp from June 1 to June 10, which will feature a friendly against Colombia on Sunday evening, June 7, at Snapdragon Stadium. The team will subsequently settle into its official World Cup base camp in the U.S. city of Portland.

This marks Jordan’s historic first-ever participation in the World Cup finals. The national team has been drawn into Group J alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

The Jordan Football Association stated that by organizing these elite training camps and high-profile fixtures, it aims to provide maximum technical and logistical backing to ensure a prestigious performance that reflects the rising stature of Jordanian football on the global stage.
