Irbid, May 16 (Petra) – Head of the Greater Irbid Municipality Committee, Imad Al-Azzam, welcomed Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa during a visit to the northern city on Saturday.

At a meeting, attended by church leaders in the city, the mayor said Irbid is "a unique model" of coexistence between Muslims and Christians, particularly in the historic Tell Irbid in the heart of the city, where mosques and churches stand side by side in a scene reflecting the values ??of love and harmony in Jordan.

The Hashemite leaders have enshrined these values ??since the establishment of the Kingdom to this day, he said, lauding the brotherhood and solidarity that bring together Jordanians of all backgrounds and religions.

The Patriarch said Jordan is a model of coexistence and harmony among the various components of society, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality.
