2/ Strong Winds, Dusty Conditions Sweep Kingdom as Temperatures Fall
Amman, May 15 (Petra)-- Temperatures dropped significantly across the Kingdom on Friday, bringing mild weather to most regions, while conditions remained relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, high-altitude clouds are expected to appear, while northwesterly winds will be active, with strong gusts at times reaching between 60 and 70 km/h in some areas. The winds are expected to stir up dust, particularly in desert and Badia regions, leading to reduced horizontal visibility. The department warned of poor visibility due to dust, especially in desert areas, with the possibility of near-zero visibility on some desert roads. It also cautioned against strong winds and powerful gusts, urging people with respiratory conditions to take necessary precautions. Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 22 degrees Celsius, and a low of 10 degrees. Highs in the port city of Aqaba will reach 38 degrees during the day, sliding to 20 degrees at night. //Petra// MF
