Amman, May 14 (Petra) -- Assistant Head of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Colleges, Vocational and Technical Training Yousef Abdallat said the commission is moving forward in implementing the Economic Modernisation Vision and royal directives by developing the vocational and technical education and training system in line with labor market needs.

Speaking on Thursday while patronizing the closing workshop on extracting lessons learned to enhance employment pathways through work-based learning (WBL), organized in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Luminus Technical University College, Abdallat said the commission is focused on achieving a direct impact reflected in graduates’ outcomes, stressing that human capital represents a key pillar of economic growth.

He added that the current phase is witnessing institutional development aimed at unifying efforts and directing them towards national economic priorities.

Abdallat announced the issuance of instructions on the recognition of prior learning and micro-credentials, aimed at enhancing the flexibility of the education system, aligning it with international standards, and strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and the private sector.

ILO representative in Jordan Amal Mowafy highlighted the importance of the "PROSPECTS" program, an initiative that supports access to employment opportunities for host communities and refugees, noting its role in building effective partnerships between implementing entities and international partners.

Luminus Technical University College Dean Mohammad Abu Qdais reviewed the college’s experience in applying work-based learning, stressing the importance of involving employers in the educational process.
