Amman, May 14 (Petra) –Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Jordan (EuroCham) met Wednesday evening to discuss mechanisms for enhancing joint cooperation and coordination, aimed to bolster economic, trade, and investment relations between the Kingdom and the European Union.

ACC Chairman, Senator Khalil Haj Tawfiq, said Jordan enjoys "distinguished" economic relations with the European Union, which "opens the door to developing strategic partnerships in numerous vital sectors."

According to an ACC statement issued on Thursday, Haj Tawfiq called for intensifying economic meetings, organizing trade delegations, and holding specialized exhibitions to promote investment opportunities in the Kingdom and enhance trade and investment exchange.

Haj Tawfiq stressed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination to ensure success of the Jordan-EU Investment Conference.

He stated this economic event will contribute to strengthening the presence of the European private sector and attracting the largest possible number of European companies and investors to participate and explore available investment opportunities in the Kingdom.

Haj Tawfiq said the chamber is harnessing all its resources, facilitations, and technical and administrative expertise at the disposal of labor unions, associations, and organizations, based on its role in serving the commercial and service sectors, supporting private sector institutions, developing their businesses and enhancing their economic presence.

In turn, EuroCham President, Mohammad Smadi, voiced commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination with the chamber and expanding communication channels between the Jordanian and European private sectors to serve shared economic interests.

On its role, he said EuroCham is working to enhance coordination and cooperation with the European Union to serve national economy, calling for studying requirements of European investors with the Kingdom's investment map.

Smadi also noted importance of promoting success stories and existing investments in the Kingdom to European investors, and strengthening direct communication between the two sides' companies and economic institutions.
