40/ Education minister Honors Winners of 2025 Educational Excellence Awards
Amman, May 13 (Petra) – On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Minister of Education Azmi Mahafza on Wednesday honoured the winners of the 2025-2026 Educational Excellence Awards during a ceremony held at the Palace of Culture in Al Hussein Youth City. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the awards, which were established by Royal Decree in 2005 to support educators and recognize their role in building future generations. The ceremony honoured winners in four categories: Distinguished Teacher, Distinguished Principal, Education Directorates Supporting Excellence and Distinguished Kindergartens. Mahafza said the awards have helped establish a comprehensive model for educational development, noting that the Ministry of Education has used the award committee's recommendations to design specialised training programmes and improve educational practices in schools. Executive Director of the Queen Rania Al Abdullah Award for Educational Excellence Association Lubna Touqan said the awards have contributed to building sustainable educational excellence by supporting innovative programmes and practical solutions that improve learning environments and educational outcomes. This year, the association adopted a new recognition framework focusing on sustainable impact rather than competitive rankings. Financial incentives for award recipients were also increased and unified. During the ceremony, several education directorates, kindergartens, principals and teachers from across the Kingdom received certificates of excellence and appreciation in recognition of their contributions to advancing educational quality and promoting a culture of excellence. The event was attended by educational officials, media representatives, partners and teachers from across Jordan. //Petra// AK
