35/ Israeli army kills Palestinian near Jerusalem, settlers storm Nablus site
Occupied Jerusalem, May 13 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian in the town of al-Ram, near Jerusalem, early Wednesday, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said. The society said its crews received the body of the many, identified by the Palestinian Health Minister as Zakaria Qidis, 44, who was killed by live rounds fired by Israeli forces for alleging trying to cross the separation wall built on land of al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem. In the north of the West Bank, thousands of Jewish settlers, including far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Knesset members, stormed Joseph's Tomb, east of Nablus, where the Israeli army deployed troops who took to rooftops in nearby areas. The Nablus Governorate said more than 5,000 settlers stormed the site after the army sealed off entrances to the city. Armed settlers also attacked the villages of Sinjil and Jaljelia, north of Ramallah in the central West Bank, assaulting shepherds and stealing sheep. The local council in Sinjil said dozens of settlers, protected by the Israeli army, attacked homes, chased shepherds and stole 700 sheep, triggering clashes with local residents, but there were no reports of injuries. Settlers also descended on homes on the outskirts of Jaljelia village and stole sheep and agricultural equipment. //Petra//SS
