3/ Jordan’s First Hajj Convoys Depart Wednesday Amid Comprehensive Preparations
Amman, May 12 (Petra) -- The first groups of Jordanian Hajj pilgrims will depart for Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, as the Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places finalizes extensive preparations to ensure a smooth and well-organized pilgrimage season. The ministry has coordinated transportation, logistics, and support services for thousands of pilgrims traveling from the Kingdom to the holy sites. An official send-off ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Pilgrims City in Jiza, south of Amman, under the patronage of Minister of Awqaf Mohammad Khalaileh and in the presence of agencies involved in managing the pilgrimage process. According to the ministry, pilgrims will depart in successive phases based on a structured timetable designed to ease travel procedures and maintain efficient movement throughout the journey. It further said the plan focuses on delivering continuous care and assistance to pilgrims from departure through their return to Jordan. The ministry also urged pilgrims to comply fully with official regulations and authorized permits, stressing that violations of Hajj instructions could result in legal penalties. //Petra// WH
