21/ Public urged to resolve tax claims cases up to Dec. 31, 2024-ISTD
Amman, May 12 (Petra) – The Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD) reiterated its call for companies, establishments, and taxpayers to seize the Cabinet's decision to extend work of the Tax Settlement and Reconciliation Committee to end of June for tax claims due up to December 31, 2024. In a statement issued Tuesday, the ISTD said the decision allows taxpayers to submit settlement or installment applications online via the department's website to benefit from exemptions and facilitations, based on the approved criteria. This process step will help settle tax situations and clear outstanding financial obligations from previous years. On its scope, the department noted the settlement covers income and sales tax claims, regardless of their value, mainly cases for which final court rulings have been issued, with the exception of tax evasion. The department noted free applications are submitted online through a dedicated form on its website, whether submitted by the taxpayer or their representative. Taxpayers are urged to take the initiative and seize the available period to settle their outstanding tax claims. //Petra// AG
