Amman, May 12 (Petra) -- Prime Minister Jafar Hassan officially inaugurated Nashama Park in the Marj Al-Hamam area of Amman on Tuesday. The 56-dunam facility was completed by the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) within a five-month timeframe, a delivery schedule noted by the Prime Minister as a benchmark for high-specification infrastructure projects. The park is named "Nashama" in recognition of the Jordanian national football team’s historic qualification for the World Cup. It features a modern architectural layout where green spaces comprise approximately 40 percent of the total area. The site includes specialized walking paths, children's play areas, and outdoor seating designed to serve the residents of the capital and surrounding areas. A primary feature of the park is a 10,000-square-meter athletic complex housing 11 diverse sports courts. The configuration includes: – Three five-a-side football pitches – Two basketball courts – Two tennis courts – Four padel courts Additionally, the park provides a one-kilometer integrated track for jogging and cycling, designed with a width of five meters. The facility is equipped with outdoor fitness units, including specialized equipment for persons with disabilities, and provides parking for approximately 205 vehicles across onsite and service-road locations. In a strategic move to optimize government operations, an adjacent eight-story building has been acquired to house several official entities. The structure will serve as the new headquarters for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Environment, and the Jordan Tourism Board. This relocation aims to centralize environmental and tourism governance adjacent to one of the city's significant new green zones. //Petra// AA
