3/ Run Jordan to Hold Fifth Women’s Race in June

Amman, May 10 (Petra) -- Run Jordan announced Sunday that the fifth edition of its Women’s Race will take place on June 12 at Al Hussein Public Parks under the slogan "Run for You."

The event is part of the organization’s efforts to encourage broader female participation in sports and community activities while promoting healthier lifestyles and positive social engagement.

This year’s race will feature two categories covering distances of 2.6 kilometers and 5.2 kilometers.

Organizers said the 2.6-kilometer race has been designated for participants aged between 8 and 14 years old in a move aimed at encouraging younger generations to embrace sports and physical activity from an early age.

Lina Kurd, general manager of Run Jordan, said the event represents more than a sporting competition and serves as a platform celebrating women’s strength, determination and role in society.

She said growing participation levels each year reflect increasing public awareness of the importance of women’s sports in Jordan and stronger support for female participation in community and athletic activities.

Kurd also highlighted the role of sponsors and partners in supporting the event and helping expand its social impact, noting that such partnerships contribute to promoting sports as an essential component of quality of life.

The race is being organized by Run Jordan and the Greater Amman Municipality in cooperation with the Jordan Athletics Federation.

Sponsors include Bromine Jordan as the main sponsor and Arab Bank as a gold sponsor, alongside several supporting partners including Jordan Tourism Board, Zain Jordan and Aramex.

Organizers invited women and girls across the kingdom to participate in the event, which will be held in what they described as an atmosphere focused on encouragement, energy and community engagement.
