Amman, May 9 (Petra) – The Eastern Military Zone has foiled three attempts early Saturday morning to smuggle "large" quantities of narcotics using electronically guided balloons.

According to the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army statement, border guard units detected and intercepted the balloons, bringing them and their cargo down within Jordanian territory in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

The statement added the seized narcotics were transferred to the relevant authorities for further action.
