Beirut, May 6 (Petra) – Five people were killed and 19 others injured in Israeli airstrikes carried out Wednesday evening on towns in southern Lebanon.

A Lebanese security source told Petra's correspondent in Beirut that the strikes targeted the towns of Siksikieh and Ansariyeh, resulting in casualties among residents.

The source added that Israeli warplanes struck the towns of Bedyas, Zawtar Al Sharqiyah, Qounine and Arnoun, while additional bombardment was reported in the areas of Alma Al Shaab and Tayr Harfa in the Tyre district.

Explosions were heard in the city of Tyre, with thick plumes of black smoke seen rising from the targeted locations.
