2/ Mild Conditions Today, Temperatures Set to Dip Next Week
Amman, May 1 (Petra)-- Temperatures on Friday are expected to be moderate across most regions of the Kingdom, while warmer conditions will prevail in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. According to the Jordan Meteorological Department, clouds will begin to build up at various altitudes over eastern parts of the country by midday, with intermittent showers forecast in parts of the northeastern Badia. These showers may be accompanied by thunder and occasional hail. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate, becoming active at times particularly in eastern areas where they may raise dust. On Saturday, temperatures are set to rise slightly, bringing warm weather to most regions and relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds are expected, with light northeasterly to northwesterly winds. Weather conditions on Sunday will become unstable, with clouds appearing at different altitudes and a chance of light, scattered showers in various parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be moderate southeasterly, shifting to active southwesterly with strong gusts at times, causing dust and reduced horizontal visibility, especially in desert areas. By Monday, temperatures will drop noticeably, bringing relatively cool conditions to most regions and milder weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Low-altitude clouds are expected, with a chance of light rain showers in parts of northern and central Jordan. Winds will be northwesterly and active. Temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 24 degrees Celsius, and a low of 10 degree.
