5/ Economy Grows 3.0% in Q4 2025, Extending Recovery Momentum

Amman, March 31 (Petra) -- Jordan's economy expanded by 3.0% in the fourth quarter of 2025, accelerating from 2.6% in the same period a year earlier, as growth broadened across productive sectors despite mounting regional and global pressures.

Preliminary data released by the Department of Statistics showed that the economy has maintained a steady upward trajectory since the third quarter of 2024, signaling improving underlying momentum supported by sectoral gains and policy measures.

Growth in the final quarter of 2025 was driven primarily by agriculture, mining, and manufacturing. The agricultural sector recorded the fastest expansion at 7.0%, followed by mining and quarrying at 6.9%, manufacturing at 5.2%, and electricity supply at 4.5%, reflecting a broad-based improvement across key production activities.

In terms of contribution to overall growth, manufacturing accounted for the largest share, adding 0.87 percentage points to GDP expansion. It was followed by agriculture, which contributed 0.46 points, and mining and quarrying at 0.24 points, underscoring the central role of industrial and resource-based sectors in supporting economic activity.

The sectoral structure of the economy remained largely unchanged, with manufacturing representing the largest share of GDP at 17.3%. Real estate activities followed at 11.5%, while public administration and defense contributed 9.2%. Agriculture accounted for 6.9% of total output at constant prices.

The expansion came despite external headwinds, including the economic spillovers from the war in Gaza and the Iran-Israel confrontation during 2025, which have weighed on regional stability and global market conditions.

Officials attributed the sustained growth to a combination of economic, fiscal, and monetary measures that helped support domestic demand and maintain business continuity, alongside efforts to enhance resilience in key sectors.
