37/ G7 Ministers Pledge Action to Stabilize Energy Markets Amid Middle East War

Amman, March 30 (Petra) -- Finance and energy ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) said on Monday they stand ready to take "all necessary measures to ensure the stability of the energy market" as part of efforts to address the economic repercussions of the war in the Middle East, according to a joint statement reported by Agence France-Presse.

Following a video conference meeting, the ministers said, "We are fully prepared to take all necessary measures in close coordination with our partners, including maintaining the stability and security of the energy market," stressing the importance of coordinated international action to mitigate the repercussions and protect macroeconomic stability.

They noted that they continue to monitor developments and their potential impact on global growth and financial market conditions, calling on all countries to refrain from imposing unjustified restrictions on exports of fuel and related products.

France has chaired the group since January. The G7 includes Germany, Canada, the United States, Italy, Japan, Britain, and France.
