10/ PSUT Team Advances to CFA Regional Semifinals After National Victory
Amman, Mar. 29 (Petra) - A student team from the Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) has secured a place in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regional semifinals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026. This achievement follows the team’s first-place victory among Jordanian universities, marking the first time a PSUT delegation has reached this advanced stage of the global financial competition. The team now joins a select group of regional contenders, including the American University of Beirut and Qatar University, to compete against elite students from across the EMEA zone. The winning team, representing the Accounting Department at the King Talal School of Business Technology, includes students Jana Atieh, Saif Al-Hassan, Masa Al-Karadsheh, Nadin Rizqallah, and Yasmin Alayan, under the guidance of Dr. Mudar Abdullatif. In a statement released Sunday, PSUT President Dr. Wejdan Abu El-Haija praised the students and their mentors, noting that their success reflects the vision of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan to elevate the quality of business education and equip graduates with the capacity to navigate a shifting global economy. She added that the result underscores the university's focus on aligning academic outcomes with the practical rigors of the international market. Dr. Oday Al-Tweissi, Dean of the King Talal School of Business Technology, noted that the faculty’s strategic focus remains on bridging the gap between theoretical study and the professional standards of global financial institutions. The team’s qualifying entry was a comprehensive equity research report that integrated a deep-dive financial analysis of a selected firm, industry evaluations, and risk assessments, ultimately producing a data-driven investment recommendation. This application of financial valuation models highlights the professional readiness PSUT students have attained in the fields of finance and investment. The CFA Institute Research Challenge 2026 is regarded as a significant academic and professional platform for aspiring analysts, simulating the environment of real-world capital markets. Locally organized by the CFA Society Jordan under the supervision of the global CFA Institute, the competition receives support from the financial sector to foster a new generation of investment professionals in Jordan. //Petra// AA
