53/ University of Jordan Makes Significant Gains in 2026 QS Subject Rankings
Amman, March 25 (Petra) -- The University of Jordan has made notable progress in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject, released by the British QS organization, marking an achievement that reflects the university’s growing academic and research performance on the international stage. The results show that 31 of the university’s programs are ranked among the world’s top 500, an increase of six programs compared to 2025, with strong positions in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, education, computer science, and artificial intelligence. The university also achieved distinguished rankings across major academic fields, with engineering and technology placed 212th globally, social sciences and management 232nd, and life sciences and medicine 264th. At the subject level, eight programs entered the rankings for the first time, while three programs ranked among the world’s top 50, notably nursing (35th), pharmacy (46th), and education (46th), alongside six programs in the top 100 worldwide. The university leads several subjects in the Arab world, including data science, artificial intelligence, education, and linguistics, and ranks first nationally in terms of the number of ranked programs, leading in 28 disciplines. University President Nathir Obaidat expressed pride in this progress, emphasizing that it reflects the success of the university’s development plans, particularly in future-oriented programs.
