36/ Aqaba Schools Closed Thursday Over Expected Weather Conditions
Aqaba, March 25 (Petra) -- Director of the Aqaba Education Directorate, Abdulwahab Al-Hajaj, in coordination with Aqaba Governor Ayman Al-Awayesheh, decided to suspend classes in all schools across the governorate on Thursday due to expected weather conditions and in the interest of student safety. Al-Awayesheh told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the suspension comes as a precaution against flash floods and the flow of valleys across all areas of the governorate and to ensure the safety of students. He noted that some floods may be carried through valleys expected on Thursday morning and could form across different areas of the governorate even after the rainy conditions have ended, stressing the importance of vigilance and taking all safety measures. He called on parents and students to exercise the highest levels of caution and avoid risk during travel and movement in areas prone to water accumulation and flooding, urging them to rely only on official sources of information and to report any emergency to the relevant authorities. //Petra// AF
