Amman, Mar. 25 (Petra) – Fire crews from East Amman Civil Defense Department responded early Wednesday morning to a fire that broke out in an apartment in Khreibet Al-Souq neighborhood of ??the capital governorate.

The fire injured 5 members of the same family, who suffered burns of varying degrees and respiratory distress due to smoke inhalation.

Paramedics provided first aid to the injured family and evacuated them to the hospital for treatment.

After investigation, authorities said the fire was caused by a gas leak from a heater.
