  18/ Army chief attends JAF ceremony marking Al Karamah Battle's 58th anniversary

Amman, March 19 (Petra) –Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, Chief of the Joint Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti, attended the JAF's ceremony held on Thursday to mark 58th Al Karamah Battle’s anniversary.

The event was held at the memorial site for the martyrs of Al Karamah Battle/Monument of the Unknown Soldier.

Upon his arrival at the ceremony site, Huneiti was received by a number of senior JAF officers and then reviewed the guard of honor that had lined up to greet him.

Huneiti laid a wreath at the memorial, in commemoration of the martyrs' noble sacrifices.

Later, Huneiti reviewed the martyrs' names of the army's formations and units that participated in Al Karamah Battle.

In commemorating the battle's anniversary, the JAF affirms its pride in the heroism of its righteous martyrs and their continued commitment to defending the Kingdom and preserving its resources.

The JAF also recalls values of sacrifice embodied in the battle to maintain vivid memories in the hearts of future generations.
