28/ Lower House Speaker mourns security officers killed in drug raid
Amman, March 18 (Petra) – Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi expressed deep sorrow and grief after three Public Security Department officers were killed in a shootout during a drug raid in East Amman Wednesday morning. "We mourn the martyrs of duty: First Lieutenant Murad Al-Mawajdeh, Sergeant Khaldoun Al-Raqab, and Corporal Subhi Dwaikat, with utmost respect for their heroism and dedication as they confronted outlaws and drug dealers, who target the youth of the country and its future," he said. "This heinous crime will only embolden us to continue the war on the scourge of drugs," he said, calling for a tough hand against anyone who dares to tamper with Jordan's security or undermine its stability. He extended his deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished the injured officer a speedy recovery. //Petra//SS
