25/ 3 killed in Israeli airstrikes in Southern Lebanon

Beirut, March 18 (Petra) – Three Lebanese were killed and nine wounded on Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, and warplanes also destroyed a bridge over the Litani River to disrupt supplies to the south.

The Lebanese Health Ministry said the victims died in air raids on the towns of Deir Zahrani and Kufr Tibnit.

A Lebanese security source said the bombing targeted the northern and western neighborhoods of Khiam town as an Israeli tank column advanced from the Kufr Shouba Heights to the outskirts of Halta village, passing near the United Nations (UNIFIL) force's positions.

It also said an Israeli force advanced into the outskirts of the Lebanese border town of Sheba'a and demolished houses.

The source said the Litani River bridge destroyed by Israeli aircraft is located in Qasmiyeh area, adding that another air raid targeted a ferry on the Litani River in Burj Rahal near the South Irrigation Authority.
