Amman, March 18 (Petra) -- Tourism revenue in Jordan declined by 3.2 percent during the first two months of 2026, reaching $1.2 billion, compared with $1.3 billion in the same period last year, according to data released by the Central Bank of Jordan.

The decline was primarily driven by a 3.6 percent drop in tourist arrivals.

Despite the overall contraction, the data indicated growth in tourism receipts from several key markets, including European visitors, which rose by 49.8 percent, followed by American visitors at 13.4 percent and Asian visitors at 9.6 percent.

In contrast, tourism revenue from Jordanian expatriates fell by 9.6 percent, while receipts from Arab visitors declined by 6.6 percent and from other nationalities by 8.7 percent.

The data also showed a 3.1 percent decrease in outbound tourism expenditure during the same period, which totaled $332.2 million.
