27/ Authorities warn of dust, reduced visibility Wednesday, Thursday
Amman, March 11 (Petra) – The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) on Wednesday warned of reduced horizontal visibility in several areas of the Kingdom due to dust, particularly in desert regions and along desert highways, as strong winds continue to stir up dust. The department said southeasterly winds would remain active through the rest of Wednesday, raising dust in many areas. According to the forecast, temperatures wwould rise slightly again on Thursday. Conditions would be pleasant in most regions, while warmer weather is expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Medium- and high-level clouds are expected, with winds occasionally becoming active and raising dust, particularly in desert areas, which could further reduce horizontal visibility. The department urged the public to take necessary precautions, particularly people suffering from respiratory conditions and advised drivers to exercise caution on roads affected by dust. //Petra// AK
