20/ Foreign Ministry follows up on killing of 2 Jordanians recruited to fight in Russia
Amman, March 7 (Petra) – The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs said on Saturday it is following up on the the killing of two Jordanians who were recruited to fight with the Russian army. The Ministry said it is coordinating with the relevant authorities to bring home the bodies of the Jordanians. Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali reiterated that the recruitment of Jordanians to fight in foreign armies is a violation of Jordanian and international law and it endangers the lives of people. Majali said the Ministry urges citizens to report any attempt at recruitment into the Russian army, which endangers citizens' lives and is a violation of the law. He said the ministry demands Russia cease enlisting Jordanians and to terminate the service of any Jordanian previously conscripted into the Russian army, pledging to take all measures to stop the practice. Majali repeated a warning about entities acting online that recruit and lure Jordanians into serving in a foreign army, stressing that the Ministry, in coordination with relevant national institutions, continues to monitor these entities and take the necessary legal and diplomatic measures to stop the practice and protect Jordanians. //Petra//SS
