Baghdad, March 3 (Petra) -- Iraqi government sources said on Tuesday that Balad Air Base in Salah al-Din province, north of the country, was targeted in an attack involving two drones.

Yassin Mohammed, a member of the Salah al-Din provincial government, said in a statement that Balad Air Base was targeted by two drones, with the extent of human and material losses not yet known.

Balad Air Base is considered the largest air base of the Iraqi army.
