10/ Energy Minister Says Fuel, Gas Reserves Sufficient, System Operating Normally

Amman, March 3 (Petra) – Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh on Tuesday said Jordan’s strategic reserves of petroleum derivatives and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are sufficient, affirming that the national energy system is operating in line with approved operational and contingency plans.

He said technical and logistical alternatives are in place to ensure uninterrupted supplies of natural gas and petroleum products under all circumstances, stressing that no shortages have been recorded in the domestic market, particularly with regard to LPG cylinders used for household purposes.

The minister added that the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure is functioning at full capacity, supported by alternative fuel options, including heavy fuel oil and diesel, to sustain electricity generation in the event of natural gas supply disruptions.

Kharabsheh noted that the energy sector is being managed through continuous daily monitoring and close coordination among relevant institutions within an integrated framework designed to address regional developments efficiently and maintain energy security.
