Amman, March 2 (Petra) -- Jordan’s stocks of staple food commodities and raw materials are enough for several months, said President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Haj Tawfiq.

He said in a press release on Monday that the commercial and services sectors are prepared to respond to any regional situation that could affect trade flow, supply chains, and procurement, adding that importers and traders have multiple alternative sources.

Chambers of commerce are working alongside business associations as one team to monitor regional developments and respond with private sector expertise, in partnership with relevant ministries and agencies, he said.

Tawfiq said specialized committees have been formed across key sectors, including shipping, maritime services, customs clearance, transport, logistics, and food security to follow updates, assess current conditions, and adopt appropriate solutions, given uncertainty over the duration of the regional conflict.

He said the private sector, across all components, will be up to task of serving the country and citizens under all circumstances, in cooperation with official institutions.
