4/ Switzerland Postpones Planned U.S.-Iran Talks
Amman, June 19 (Petra)-- Switzerland's Federal Department of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday the postponement of talks that had been scheduled to take place between the United States and Iran at the Bürgenstock mountain resort. In a statement, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said: "The planned talks between the United States, Iran, Qatar and Pakistan have been postponed. Switzerland remains ready to facilitate these discussions. The necessary preparatory work is continuing." The ministry did not specify a new date for the negotiations. The announcement came after a White House spokesperson said in recent hours that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance would not travel to Switzerland for the discussions aimed at ending the conflict with Iran, according to the European news network Euronews. "The logistics of these negotiations have been challenging and difficult to predict," the White House spokesperson said. "As a result, the Vice President will not travel to Switzerland at this time." The spokesperson added that U.S. officials remain hopeful that technical-level discussions can begin as soon as possible. //Petra// MF
