2/ Mild Summer Conditions Through Monday - JMD
Amman, June 19 (Petra)-- Mild summer weather is expected across most regions of the Kingdom on Friday, while relatively hot to hot conditions are expected in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). Northwesterly winds will be moderate, becoming active at times, particularly in the Badia areas. The JMD forecast indicates a slight rise in temperatures on Saturday. Weather conditions will remain mild across the highlands and plains, while hotter conditions will persist in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected to continue. On Sunday, temperatures are forecast to increase slightly once again, bringing relatively hot weather to most parts of the Kingdom and hot conditions in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds will be northeasterly before shifting to northwesterly, with occasional active gusts. A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Monday. Mild summer conditions will return to the highlands and plains, while hot weather will continue in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds will remain active at times. Temperatures on Friday are expected to range between 30 C and 18 C in East Amman and 28 C and 16 C in West Amman. In the northern highlands, temperatures will range from 25 C to 15 C, while the Sharah Highlands will record 24 C to 14 C. The Badia regions are expected to see temperatures between 36 C and 19 C, while the plains will experience 30 C to 17 C. In the northern Jordan Valley, temperatures will reach 37 C during the day and drop to 22 C at night. The southern Jordan Valley will see highs of 39 C and lows of 24 C. The Dead Sea is forecast to record temperatures between 38 C and 23 C, while the Gulf of Aqaba will experience hot conditions with temperatures ranging from 39 C to 26 C. //Petra// MF
