9/ Jordan Condemns So-Called Somaliland's Opening of 'Embassy' in Jerusalem
Amman, June 16 (Petra)-- The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs has condemned the opening of a purported Somaliland embassy in occupied Jerusalem, describing the move as unacceptable and a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fouad Majali stressed that any measures or decisions aimed at altering the status or legal standing of Jerusalem are null, illegitimate, and illegal. Majali reiterated that the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region is the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He also reaffirmed Jordan’s full support for the unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, backing its legitimate state institutions and underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving Somalia’s security and stability. //Petra// MF
