2/ Summer-Like Weather to Prevail Across Kingdom This Week - JMD
Amman, June 16 (Petra)-- Temperatures are expected to rise slightly across the Kingdom on Tuesday, with moderate weather prevailing in the highlands and plains, while hotter conditions are forecast in the Badia region, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD). Northwesterly winds will be moderate throughout the day. The department's report indicated that temperatures will increase slightly again on Wednesday, bringing relatively hot weather to most parts of the Kingdom, while hot conditions will continue in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds are expected, occasionally becoming active. On Thursday, temperatures are forecast to drop slightly. Summer-like moderate weather will prevail in the highlands and plains, while conditions will be relatively hot in the Badia and hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Northwesterly winds will remain moderate, with periods of increased activity. Friday's weather is expected to remain seasonably moderate across most regions, while relatively hot to hot conditions will persist in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some low-altitude clouds may appear over northern parts of the Kingdom, accompanied by moderate northwesterly winds that may become active at times. Forecast temperatures for Tuesday range between 19 C and 33 C in East Amman, 17 C and 31 C in West Amman, 16 C and 28 C in the northern highlands, and 17 C and 29 C in the Sharah Highlands. Temperatures are expected to reach 37 C in the Badia, 33 C in the plains, 38 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 40 C in the southern Jordan Valley, 39 C at the Dead Sea, and 40 C in the Gulf of Aqaba. //Petra// MF
