Aqaba, June 15 (Petra) -- The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) on Monday discussed with Polish Charge d’Affaires to Jordan Karol Le?niak prospects of enhancing cooperation and expand partnerships in industry, tourism and investment, aiming to support sustainable development and boost Aqaba as a regional investment, tourism and entrepreneurship hub.

ASEZA Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs Thabet Nabulsi said the meeting reflected the deep Jordanian-Polish relations and the importance of building on them to expand cooperation and exchange expertise, particularly in the tourism sector.

He spoke of the need for Aqaba to make a foothold in the Polish market and attract more visitors through expanded tourism programs and improved facilitation for travelers.

Nabulsi also pointed to discussions on establishing direct air links between Aqaba and Poland to enhance visitor experience and bolster Aqaba’s competitiveness as a year-round tourism destination.

Aqaba is the apex of Jordan’s Golden Triangle tourism circuit alongside Petra and Wadi Rum, he said, noting the port city's diverse tourism offerings, advanced infrastructure, integrated services and strategic location, which reinforce its position as a leading regional and international destination.

ASEZA Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Investment Mohammad Abu Omar outlined the investment incentives and advantages offered by the authority to encourage Polish investors and business leaders to invest in the region.

He said Aqaba offers a stable and flexible investment environment, backed by an advanced legislative framework and integrated infrastructure that enhances project implementation efficiency.

ASEZA, he added, continues to attract quality capital and future-oriented projects, particularly in green economy, industry and logistics services, supported by Aqaba’s strategic geographic location, modern ports, international airport and advanced logistics network, as well as trade agreements Jordan signed with multiple countries.

The Polish delegation was briefed during the visit on several mega strategic projects in Aqaba, including the National Carrier, a railway, as well as green hydrogen and green ammonia initiatives.

Opportunities for cooperation in information technology and digital transformation were also discussed.

The delegation noted Aqaba’s economic, investment and tourism potential, stressing the importance of continued communication and further exploration of cooperation and partnership opportunities between the two sides.
