  3/ Customs clearance companies process 395,000 declarations in 1st 5 months 2026-AOCTC

Amman, June 13 (Petra) – Association of Owners of Clearance and Transport Companies (AOCTC) said companies operating in the sector at Jordan's various customs and border crossings processed 395,000 customs declarations and completed their procedures during the first five months of this year.

According to statistical data compiled by the association, 86,876 declarations were processed and completed at Omari Border Crossing's customs center, which connects Jordan with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, while 76,111 declarations were concluded at Aqaba customs center.

The association also noted customs clearance companies operating at the Jaber Customs Center, which connects the Kingdom with Syria, processed and completed 27,769 declarations during the same period, while 6,577 others were processed at Karama (Ruwaished) Customs Center, which connects the Kingdom with Iraq.

The report noted a total of 65,645 declarations were processed during the January-May period through Aqaba Airport Cargo Customs, while 37,147 declarations were processed through Amman Customs Centers, and 17,287 others were processed through the e-commerce center.

It stated the total cargo handling volume at the main port in Aqaba reached 5.271 million tons during the same period, compared to 3.809 million tons in 2025, which stood at 728 vessels.

During the same period, statistical data showed incoming containers handled by the Aqaba Container Terminal increased by 3,779 containers, to stand at 198,638, compared to 194,859 units during the same period last year.

The number of containers exported from the Kingdom during the same period reached 40,694, while 245 vessels arrived at the container terminal.

The total cargo handling volume for both imports and exports at the port reached 386,303 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units).

Data indicated that the number of trucks crossing the Jaber border crossing in both directions (entry and exit, loaded and empty) during the same period reached 178,340 Jordanian and foreign trucks, compared to 118,580 during the same period in 2025.

Meanwhile, 207,507 trucks passed en route Al-Omari border crossing during the first five months of this year, compared to 188,580 during the same period last year.

Additionally, , the number of trucks that passed through Karama border crossing increased by 40,516 trucks, reaching 115,385, compared to 74,869 during the same period in 2025.

Over the 1st 5 months of this year, 152 ships docked at the main port, while 72 vessels arrived at the oil port, and the number at passenger port stood at 504, bringing the total to 728 ships, compared to 711 during the same period last year.
