24/ Energy Sector a 'Pillar' of Jordan's Development Under King, Says JPRC

Amman, June 9 (Petra) --Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) said the energy sector has been a "key pillar" of Jordan's development journey under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, citing "strategic advancements and major" projects that strengthened energy security and improved efficiency of the national energy system.

In a statement issued Tuesday on the occasion of the Kingdom's celebrations marking the Royal Accession anniversary, the company said it has remained a "pivotal" partner in the national development process through its role in meeting Jordan's demand for petroleum products, implementing continuous modernization programs, and enhancing operational and production efficiency in support of the national economy.

The company said achievements made over the past decades were due to a "clear vision and a consistent approach," focused on investing in people, strengthening the rule of law, developing state institutions, and promoting a culture of productivity and achievement.

It said these efforts enabled Jordan to preserve its stability and continue its development path despite regional and international challenges.

JPRC described the occasion as a "significant" milestone in the history of modern Jordan, reflecting a royal vision that laid the foundations for a strong and resilient state capable of addressing challenges and advancing comprehensive development.

Jordan, under the King's leadership, has maintained its security and stability while enhancing its regional and international standing amid successive crises and rapid changes across the region, the JPRC pointed out.

Over the past 27 years, JPRC said Jordan saw "integrated" political, economic and administrative modernization efforts, alongside infrastructure development, investment promotion, and the empowerment of youth and women.

These measures, it added, have contributed to building a "more resilient" economy to adapt and achieve sustainable growth, while reinforcing Jordan's standing as a country respected for its credibility at both the regional and international levels.

JPRC also said His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II continues to play a "pivotal" role in supporting modernization efforts through initiatives that promote youth engagement, entrepreneurship, innovation and technology.

The company noted this process helps advance Jordan's transition toward a modern and competitive economy that meets the aspirations of future generations.
