45/ Ja'afar Al Daoud wins bronze at Roma 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series
Amman, June 7 (Petra) -- Jordanian national taekwondo team athlete Ja'afar Al Daoud won the bronze medal on Sunday at the Roma 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series. Al Daoud secured the bronze in the under-58kg weight category following a strong performance where he clinched three consecutive victories. He opened his campaign in the round of 32 by defeating Brazil's Giovanni Aubin de Moraes 2-0 before sweeping past Greece's Aristidis Nikolaos Psarros with the same scoreline in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, Al Daoud continued his winning streak by defeating Egypt’s Moataz Assem 2-0, securing a podium finish for Jordan. His run ended in the semifinals following a defeat to Italy's Vito Dell'Aquila, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion. The Roma 2026 World Taekwondo Grand Prix Series features an elite lineup of the world's top athletes, drawing 255 competitors representing 51 countries. //Petra// AF
